Key Stage 3

What will I study?

Art is in everything: Films, cartoons, cars, fashion, wallpaper, jewellery, curtains, photographs, catalogues, furniture, carpets, theatre, make-up, toys, magazines, postcards, posters, pop videos, adverts, shoes, bags, hats, calendars, fun-fairs, vacuum cleaners, museums, buildings, packaging, computer games and Christmas trees.

The Art and Design course will enable you to study the following areas: – Drawing (using a variety of materials) – Painting (using a variety of paint) – Sculpture (clay/3D construction) – Printmaking (lino/polystyrene/calligraphy/mono) – Mixed media (combination of materials used together) – Textiles (Batik, silk painting) It is also important that you study a variety of Art Work and make connections with artists when developing your own ideas for practical work.
