Students at St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy managed to raise a whopping £3,719.47 for East Lancashire Hospice.
The whole Academy was challenged to raise as much money as possible for two selected charities during the 2016/17 academic year as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations. The other charity was Water Aid, for whom the Academy raised £3628.27. That’s a total of £7347.74 through own-clothes days, sponsor week, raffles, ‘wet the teacher’ and other fun activities throughout the year.
Jennifer Quinn from East Lancs Hospice came to collect the cheque from our Student Council reps and other students who had an active role in raising this fantastic total. Saint Wilfrid’s would like to thank all the staff, students, parents and governors who helped us to raise such a large amount for two very worthwhile causes.
