This year’s Gym and Dance Show 2018 was another huge success with over 100 students from Year 7 to Year 13 performing over two nights.
The students have worked hard preparing their performances since September and it was great to see all of their hard work pay off in two spectacular performances! This year brought many excellent auditions from students and it was a difficult decision for Mrs Duffy and Mr Reeve to decide which pieces would make it into the show. Every year the students’ choreography becomes more impressive and we are really proud of our young leaders, dancers and gymnasts.
Some special mentions should be given to Amy (Year 13) and Lydia (Year 10) who have taken the Year 7 Dance club since September and prepped the girls for their performance. An extra well done and good luck to Megan (Year 13) who performed her solo in the show and is currently auditioning for a place in a London Dance School.
Lastly, this year sees the introduction of the Arts Award for Year 7 and 8 students. They performed brilliantly (if not slightly “revolting!”). We have high hopes for these students and look forward to seeing them in this year’s Summer Production.
Thank you to Mrs Patchett-Byrne for leading on the choreography and Arts Award class. Thank you to our audiences for coming to support the students…we look forward to seeing you again next year!!
