St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy received a very positive report when the Ofsted inspection team visited on Thursday 22nd February.
Within the report, they particularly noted the direction the Academy continues to move in, stating:
“You have a crystal-clear vision and want pupils to grow as individuals and have high aspirations” and that “the Academy’s Christian Ethos and strong values underpin everything”.
The report continues to highlight the all-round growth within the Academy, and follows on from the ‘Outstanding’ SIAMS inspection in 2016. During the short, yet robust inspection, the team spoke to a selection of staff and students, observed many lessons and took account of responses to online questionnaires from parents, students and members of staff.
The report also recognises the excellent leadership opportunities available to students at every age, particularly mentioning the ‘effective role models’ that Sixth Form students are for their younger counterparts.
Principal Cath Huddleston said:
“I am delighted that the report demonstrates the journey we are on as an Academy. We are making excellent progress and there is a tangible sense of momentum felt amongst our staff and students alike. I believe the report reflects the daily life of the Academy, which the inspectors saw during their visit, and I am pleased that their comments acknowledge the positive direction we are heading.
I look forward to continue to build on our success, as we prepare to welcome our next intake of Year 7 students, along with the new cohort of Sixth Formers joining us from secondary schools across the borough. It truly is a wonderful time to be a part of this Academy.”
