We had a great time celebrating Pi Day with some delicious Maths-themed challenges running throughout the day!
The hotly-anticipated Pi challenge kicked off at break, where we saw Mr Bainbridge’s duet of Apple Pie’s knock Mr Hulme’s reigning Steak Pie off the top. Judges from across the Academy came to rank the best-tasting, most-appealing and best math-related Pies, baked by staff.
Then at lunch we saw Year 8 battling it out with a Pi-related House challenge. Students were challenged to make a colour-coded paper chain based on the digits of Pi. Oxford came out on top, with one student’s brilliant memory of the digits leading the House to a fantastic victory over the others!
