Borrowing
Books can be borrowed for 2 weeks at a time and renewed twice. If a book is not returned on time a notification will be sent via Firefly and eventually a letter will be sent home.

A limited amount of media equipment is available to borrow for 1-day at a time – please ask a member of staff for more information.
Student Librarians
We have a number of student librarians who work in partnership with the LRC manager to help keep the Library running smoothly during busy times. If you are interested in becoming a student librarian, speak to our Academy Librarian to find out more.
Activities and Clubs
The LRC hosts a number of activities and clubs for students throughout the year. See the Extra Curricular page for more details of the clubs. There are also seasonal displays that include suggested books for particular themes and topics, or ideas to help you kick-start a reading habit!
Guest Speakers and Trips
The LRC has hosted many events and guests, including Author visits and Storytellers. Some of the authors have included Luch Christoper, Val Tyler and Joseph Delaney.
Music in the LRC
Every half term, a selection of our talented Music students perform in the LRC during lunchtime. The purpose of this is to help increase the confidence of the musicians in preparation for their exams, as well as raising awareness of opportunities available within the Academy to the listeners. It can also be very calming for those reading or studying in the LRC during their free time.
