Throughout your first half term at St Wilfrid’s you will take part in the ‘Passport to Study Induction Programme’. In this programme you will cover a variety of different units designed to refine your study, personal and subject specific knowledge and skills. You will have to complete 3 units in total in order to successfully pass the induction programme.

Independent Study Tasks Deadlines
UNIT 1 – Subject Tasks
. Deadlines will be provided by your teachers
UNIT 2 – Effective Study. Section A deadline Thursday 21st of September
UNIT 2 – Effective Study. Section B deadline Thursday 5th of October  
UNIT 3 – Personal Development. Sections A and B deadline Thursday 14th of September
UNIT 3 – Personal Development. Sections E Thursday 28th of September
UNIT 3 – Personal Development. Sections C and D deadline Thursday 5th October
UNIT 1 - Subject Independent Study Induction Tasks
Each of your subjects will set you 5 hours each per week to complete in your independent study time. You must complete all of your subject induction tasks by the deadline set by your teachers.

You will complete an assessment on your subject specific independent study tasks.
UNIT 2 - EFFECTIVE STUDY
In your effective study unit you will have to complete 2 main sections. You will need to complete both. Within these there are a range of activities aimed to help you understand how to effectively study, these include how memory works, organisation and effective time management. You should complete sections A and B in consecutive order but they will run concurrently alongside your subject tasks.

UNIT 3 - PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
There is a massive step up from GCSE to A-Level study and this means that you need to also hone your personal development during the first term. You will need to complete the 5 sections below to complete the Personal Development Unit. You should do the sections in consecutive order but they should run concurrently alongside your Effective Study and Subject Induction Units.
