Performing Arts is all about self-expression and embracing individuality. This course will develop the skills and understanding required for employment in the performing arts industry. You will also be given the opportunity to develop a performing arts project from a given brief. In addition, you will integrate two different performing art forms or styles of performance into a new re-imagined piece of repertoire.
You may be an actor, dancer, musician, musical theatre performer, mime artist or work with masks or puppets; as part of the course, you will be able to find new and exciting ways of combining these to re-imagine an existing piece and making it accessible and fresh for a contemporary audience.
There are fantastic performing arts facilities at St Wilfrid’s, with a large stage fitted with professional sound and lighting. We actively encourage students to take part in formal and informal musical performances and dramatic productions, which take place throughout the year.
The Level 3 Extended Certificate in Performing Arts is equivalent to one A-Level.
