What will you put into practice?
Our worship theme this half term has been to refocus our attention on the mission statement for St Wilfrid’s – ‘Lord direct us, to live life to the full’. We have considered the themes of Living, Inspiring, Valuing and Experience life in all its fullness. But the question has to be… what is the impact?
In Matthew 7, Jesus speaks about fruit. When we think about the simplicity of his analogy, we can use it to assess the impact that our worship theme has had in our life.
“A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So, every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.”
When we recall the questions, we have faced in our worship this half term, take some time to reflect on the fruit that has been produced, and celebrate it. Fruit is a sign of health in a plant and serves to enrich and nourish others, as well as carry seed that can reproduce.
