What do you value the most?

"Jesus told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.”"

For what purpose? That is the question that Cognitive Behaviour Therapists ask to elicit values. When you elicit your values, you have a focussing lens to view your thoughts and actions through. Another way of thinking of this is, Find your why!

This term, it is our aim and purpose, to focus our students on the Christian values that underpin our vision. As a school community we all come together to embed these values in all we do.

But why? For what purpose?

In 2 Chronicles chapter 1, we read of an encounter between God and Solomon:

That night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

Solomon answered God… “Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people, for who is able to govern this great people of yours?”

When Solomon was asked for whatever he wanted, wisdom and knowledge were his priorities, as these are what he valued the most in order to fulfil his duty. As we seek to instruct our students to ‘Live life to the full’, let us embed the following Values in all we do:

Learning with WISDOM

Inspiring HOPE

Valuing LOVE

Experiencing KOINONIA

What is your response?
As you read the devotional, set some time aside to ask God how the word can change you today.
James 1:22 says "Do not merely listen to the word...do what it says." How can you live out the challenges set, or share the encouragement from the post today?
