St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy is once again pleased to report outstanding achievements by its students in this summer’s A-Level results.
Standout student performances include Tim Roper who will go on to study Medicine at Cambridge. Tim acquired straight A* grades in each of his 4 subjects (plus Extended Project Qualification). He said “I’m over the moon – this is exactly what I was hoping for! It couldn’t have gone better and I am really happy!” Head Girl Parsha also achieved an excellent set of results, with her A* A* A A taking her to the University of Manchester to study Dentistry.
Applications for Higher Level Apprenticeships have also proved to be very successful, with Travis Ingham securing a place to pursue Software Engineering and Shamima Namaji accepting her place with PWC.
Following the cancellation of exams, students have been awarded their results through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards. Due to the varying impact of the pandemic, the government will not be publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year.
The Principal Miss Huddleston said: “We are delighted with the achievements of our students, especially in light of the pandemic and the disruptions they have faced. The results are testament to their hard work and dedication, as well as the consistent support and guidance from both staff and parents. As students progress onto further education and study, we look forward to seeing what they will achieve and wish them every success for the future.”
