St Wilfrid's C of E Academy is pleased to share the success of its Sixth Form students in this year's A-Level results. A significant number of students achieved impressive grades, reflecting their hard work and dedication throughout the academic year.
The Head of Sixth Form Mrs Heidi Cass stated “We are proud of all of our students for their commitment and perseverance. Their achievements are a credit to their efforts and the support provided by our dedicated staff.”
Among the top performers were James Toase, who achieved four A* grades and will now study Physics with Astro Physics at the University of Manchester. He said “I am very happy with my results and relieved to have gotten 4 A* grades! I’m thankful for the support from the Academy throughout my time here – it’s been incredible.”
Olivia McAlary earned two A* and two A grades and is set to study Classical Studies at Edinburgh University. Emma Shaw, with three A grades and an A*, will also pursue Physics at the University of Manchester. Zara Khan, who earned four A grades, will be going on to study Pharmacy. She excitedly said “I’m a little overwhelmed but really happy as they were tricky subjects. St Wilfrid’s was an amazing little family with warm and kind teachers. I did my work experience in a Pharmacy and see myself going into that field, so I can’t wait for this next step at uni.” Another top performer was Jacob Lambert, with three A grades and one A* who will be going on to study Mathematics.
An increasing number of students are also progressing on to prestigious apprenticeship programmes with a range of employers including BAE Systems, Westinghouse, the NHS and Royal Mail.
