Students at St Wilfrid's Church of England Academy celebrated another excellent set of GCSE results this morning. This included some very impressive results in individual subjects at grades 9- 4, in Art 93%, Biology 94%, Chemistry 94%, Physics 93% and RE 88%. In Computer Science, Arabic and Photography 100% of the students passed their GCSE courses.
The Academy has also increased the numbers of pupils attaining the highest grades with 27% of Year 11 achieving grades 9-7 at GCSE. Some individual students have achieved standout results, such as Stephen Ferguson, who achieved 7 Grade 9s and two Grade 8s. He said "I definitely did better in some subjects than I thought I was going to, so I was pleasantly surprised!" Josie Pawson, who achieved 7 grade 9s an 8 and a 7, said "I’ve done really good… better than I thought I would and I’m very happy about it". A relieved Ammarah Sacha, who achieved 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s said "it’s so good to know that the effort that you put in really is worth it" and Freya Jack was in agreement, with 5 Grade 9s and 4 grade 8s, she said “it’s amazing and shows that if you try your best you can really achieve something incredible."
At St Wilfrid's Church of England Academy we are proud of all of our students and wish to celebrate the efforts they have made, the wonderful results they have all gained, and in particular those who have made amazing progress during their time at the Academy.
