Our students have been celebrating in the sunshine this morning after some incredible achievements in this year’s GCSE results.
Samah Ahmed was one of the Academy’s standout performers, gaining an astonishing full set of Grade 9s. She was delighted with her results and is looking forward to returning to the Sixth Form in September. A number of students had a mix of all Grade 9 and Grade 8s, including Will Roper, Charmaine Chirenje, Cathryn Clarkson, Hashim Khan, Hasti Jahanghiri and Shiphrah Lord.
After another year of cancelled exams, students have been awarded their results through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the exam boards.
Our Principal Miss Huddleston said: “We have been impressed by the dedication and commitment of our Year 11 students. Despite everything they have faced and the disruptions caused by the pandemic, they have worked so hard and their results are thoroughly deserved. We are thankful for the strong partnerships we have formed with parents, and along with our staff, they have been a source of constant support and guidance for our students over the years. We can’t wait to welcome many of our students back into the Sixth Form in September and extend a special welcome to those joining us from other schools in the area.”
